About Internet Speed Test
Internet Speed Test is a free, independent internet speed test built to give anyone, anywhere, an accurate reading of their real connection performance no app, no signup, no cost.
Our Mission
We built Internet Speed Test after noticing that most existing speed test tools treat every user identically, regardless of country, typical local broadband context, or the specific questions people actually search for. Our approach starts from real search-demand data an analysis of roughly 30,000 keyword variations covering speed-test-related searches from 164 countries and uses it to build a dedicated, contextually relevant page for every market we cover, all powered by the same accurate, real-time measurement engine.
How the Tool Works
Every speed test on this site runs directly in your browser using standard, publicly available network measurement techniques: timed round-trip requests for ping and jitter, a streamed download to measure download throughput, and a streamed upload to measure upload throughput. No app installation, plugin, or account is required, and nothing about your test is sold or shared your result history is stored locally in your own browser.
Editorial Standards
All written content on Internet Speed Test, including country pages, guides, and glossary definitions, is produced and maintained by the Internet Speed Test Editorial Team. We do not publish content under invented personal bylines; instead, every page is attributed to our editorial team collectively, and reviewed for accuracy against current, publicly documented networking standards. If you spot an error or an outdated figure, please contact us we keep this site updated on an ongoing basis as broadband technology and typical speeds change.
What Makes Us Different
Where a typical speed test tool offers one generic page, Internet Speed Test offers 164 one for every country with meaningful search demand for speed testing. Each page pairs the same accurate, real measurement engine with content and FAQs written around what people in that specific country actually ask, making it easier to find the exact information you're looking for, whether that's a typical speed benchmark, ISP-switching advice, or a definition of a technical term shown in your result.
Free Forever, With Full Features
Every feature on Internet Speed Test the live gauges, the latency chart, the local test history, and the ISP/IP lookup is available at no cost on every country page. We don't gate any measurement behind a paywall or account signup, because we believe an accurate speed reading is a baseline utility everyone should have free access to, regardless of where they live or which provider they use.
Looking Ahead
We continue to expand and refine our country coverage as search demand and broadband markets evolve, and we periodically review and update guide and glossary content to keep pace with changing typical speeds and networking terminology. If there's a country, feature, or explainer you'd like to see added, our contact page is the best way to reach us.
